Pekka Järvilehto

Pekka is a self-taught visual artist, lifestyle musician and electrical engineer. Pekka’s light art studies light as a phenomen, its interaction and interference with various materials. Pekka’s works employ several technologies such as lasers, controllers, electronic circuits, video mapping, video projection of visual elements created in computer code e.g. in Processing Environment.

Pekka’s latest artwork studies the dualism between beauty and ugliness, where bright light hides the beauty of mundane objects, kitchen originated waste, whereas the darkness reveals the beauty, in a form of magically glowing world, when the waste is treated with an UV-activated substance.
