Katja Muttilainen

Creative art professional Katja Muttilainen (Varkaus FIN) has a background in stage lighting design and education. She primarily uses light, lighting and augmented reality applications (AR) as her mediums. Years 2026-27 Muttilainen works as a curator for Finnish Light Art Society FLASH.

Muttilainen has designed and executed numerous lighting designs from theater and contemporary dance to circus and events since 1998, and has worked, among others, as a lighting technical coordinator, lighting technician, and lighting operator in event production. In addition to her part-time artistic work, Katja has been involved in teaching (stage lighting, architectural and environmental lighting) as well as curating light art.
