Aaron Vartiainen: Why Are We Here

The artwork explores the fabric of reality

The artwork explores the fabric of reality by altering our visual spatial perception. The artwork is possibly the world's largest single-piece hyperbolic prism. The outer surface of the prism is made of two heat-formed, double curvature acrylic sheet which are glued together from the edges. The thin volume between the acrylic sheets is filled with water, resulting in a seemingly monolithic prism.

Aaron Vartiainen is an architect and artist working with spatial and conceptual art.
