Heidi Stålnacke: Sula

The installation focuses on key threats to our future, the melting of sea ice and glacier, 2021

Sula -installation focuses on key threats to our future, the melting of sea ice and glacier. The work portrays the states and movement of water. The light in the art work is radiation between future and past. The work is made of waste material of the plastic industry. ”I constantly challenge myself by looking for new materials, ways of working, and perspectives on making art. My goal is to create beautiful reflections of nature from the trash and make the viewer miss what has not yet been lost. In my works, grief, longing and happiness overlap.”

Visual artist, b.1980 in Rovaniemi, Lives in Oulu, Finland
