Alexander Salvesen: Perception Calibrator V - Yellow/Blue

neon and argon light, polycarbonate on wood 65 x 43 cm

Perception Calibrator is an relief type of work where two neon lights in different colours mix and blend into a variety of hues and shadows on a three-dimensional surface. The artwork is based on visual perception, the duality of our eyes and the visual process in the brain. Afterimages and colour consistency plays a large part in the work and it is especially made for the stereoscopic human vision.

Perception Calibration-series is a part of a larger exhibition series titled In Visibilis which was inspired by binary barcodes, lines and our perception of reality and time.
