Big mediainstallation into totally dark space
The problem of evil; if God is perfectly good, he wants to remove evil, if he is omnipotent, he can remove evil. However, evil exists, so God cannot be all-powerful and all-good at the same time. (Wikipedia) The work deals with the evil of the world and the tensions of our time. The work realized in a dark space is an abstract, multi-interpretable, visual proposal to define evil. The installation strongly takes over the space. It resembles a mechanical machine whose movement is repetitive, endless. The works are abstract in form, but at the same time they refer to the surrounding world and its space. always changing video animations and led-lights projected onto the structure. In addition to the animations, the parts of the piece that move with electric motors create ever-changing shadows on the walls of the space. The soundscape of the piece was designed in collaboration with musician Verneri Pohjola, and the shadow animations with media artist Paula Lehtonen.
