WhiteNight: Aurora Experience

2km long toboggan run with experimental lighting

The Aurora Experience features a toboggan run that allows participants to experience the thrill of chasing the Tulikettu and being inside an Aurora Borealis while connecting with the ancient legends of the polar night. The course begins high above the treeline at the top of Kaunispää fell. From this barren landscape, participants race down an illuminated track through arctic scenery, with projected imagery of Finnish lore and tales. Midway down, they reach a plaza featuring "Pohjannaula," the proverbial centerpin of the known world. After this pivotal point, the course's tone changes, with the natural beauty of illuminated evergreens lining the rest of the way down to the valley at a leisurely pace, accompanied by projections and lighting that mimic the dance of the Aurora Borealis.

WhiteNight is a creative duo: Arto & Joonas, passionate about lighting and light art. With extensive experience in the field, we have been dedicated to light art since 2014, working on a variety of projects.
