Hexagon Intergalactic: Aether Quills
Lasercut wooden sculpture in shape of six peacock feathers
Aether Quills is a programmable light sculpture series: Six peacock-feather forms cut from layered plywood and assembled with steel bolts, hiding hundreds of LEDs within the structure. The light is indirect and seamless - glowing from between the layers rather than from visible points, while a computer-driven real-time video system generates living patterns across the feathers: Flame and ink-like textures that thicken, thin, and drift as if written in light. The work draws from the myth of Orithis, a celestial peacock whose plumage collects dreams, regrets, and half-whispered wishes, turning them into a luminous archive. Shown as all six mirrored feathers or in smaller “constellations” (wings, fan, loose cluster), Aether Quills invites the viewer to stand within their span and wonder: "If these are quills, what story is being written, and what of my own might already be inscribed in their glow?"
